What We Do

Looking for an opportunity to socialize with your neighbors? Join the Ford’s Colony Friends and Neighbors Club. The Club meets at the Swim & Tennis building at 6:30 PM on the first Friday of each month from September through May.

The monthly meetings consist of interesting presentations or social events. For a complete schedule click the Calendar button.

The meetings start at 6:30 PM with a time for socialization followed by club updates and presentations beginning at 7:00 PM. Meetings last about an hour, including time for questions and answers. Social events include a Holiday Dinner in December and a yearend BBQ in May.

November  Meeting

On November 6th join us at the Swim & Tennis building for a presentation by Dr. Karen McPherson, "Prelude to the American Revolution, the European Wars.".

Dr. McPherson will focus on the European wars that were precursors to the American Revolution. Primarily the Seven Years War (in the US called French and Indian War) between the United Kingdom and France.  In addition leading up to the 7 Years War was the War of Spanish Succession and the War of Austrian Succession.

Karen McPherson graduated from Willliam & Mary and has an M.A. and Ph.D in government from Catholic University and an M.A. in history from George Mason University. She also taught government and history in the public school system.

  • December 4 – Holiday Party -with entertainment and a catered dinner.

  • January 1 - No Meeting

  • February 5 – Trivia Night - A light-hearted competition to test your knowledge

  • March 5 - Melissa Simpson, Adult Services Director, Williamsburg Regional Library, “Artificial Intelligence, AI, a Boon or a Curse?"

  • April 2 – Alana Carithers, Executive Director of the Williamsburg Symphony, "Williamsburg's Nationally Recognized Orchestra"

  • May 7 – BBQ - catered barbeque dinner with all the favorites
